inspiration behind the new envelope designs

Last week, I launched four new envelope designs! I've been working on these for weeks and releasing them into the shop has been thrilling. With a new season of sweaters and fluffy white snow, these latest designs are winter-inspired with darker hues and even some "moody florals."

Two of the four envelopes feature a diamond shape as an address block, in lieu of the more traditional rectangle. I am absolutely in love with its unique design and it still has plenty of room to write an address or a friend's name in lovely calligraphy.

I nearly squealed in delight when this blue envelope came off the printer. I had been fiddling with it for several days and nothing felt quite right. It was either too pattern-y or lifeless. Until I finally thought outside of the box and moved the address block to the far left corner and feature a bouquet of indigo flowers. I jumped from my chair and did a little jig as soon as it was folded.

This black envelope was a little bit of a risk for me. It felt a shade different than all of the other envelopes, but I've been so attracted to "moody florals" lately that I had to give it a shot. And I'm rather glad that I did. The flowers were photographed in Scotland and then transformed into digital imagery. Such beautiful work from Create The Cut that I had to make it into a rectangular piece you could mail to all of your friends. The back is one of my favorite parts, as the flowers barely reach over the edges to a bold but simple black back.

In the next week or two, I also plan on offering new customized notecard options. You will soon be able to add "thank you", "hello lovely" or even a name in whimsical, lovely calligraphy to the notecards. I'm so excited about this new, lovely way to show gratitude!
