The Ten Hats Project - Update
Wellll, friends. It's been a little brutal as of late. Remember the time that I wanted to pull together 10 hats in 6 weeks?
About that.
It hasn't happened. I've got about a half of a hat sitting on my living room end table right now. It's begging me to come finish it, but really, I just haven't had the time.
Which kind of bothers me. I like to be a person who gets things done, who accomplishes, who is faithful to her to-do list. But, for the last few weeks, God has been asking me to be faithful to other things, more important things. Like long walks with my husband and ministering to college students and teenagers. And turning off my brain and resting.
It's also been a learning process for me. I get far more accomplished before noon than I do after noon. Any to-do item that truly is non-negotiable needs to happen before lunch time.
So, what does that mean for my little project?
Well, I'm going to keep on making the hats. But, this time, I'll be taking off the time constraint. Handmade and social justice are still my heartbeat, but I don't need to pressure myself into making it happen. So, I'll keep on making and I'll send off those ten hats just when the Lord wants me to.
